You are from a EU member state and you wish to live and work in Belgium?

Anybody who wants to come and work in Belgium, has to deal with a number of time-consuming and surprisingly complicated standard formalities:

Standard formalities:

  • related to housing (lease, …)
  • registration with a municipality, residence permit, identity card
  • insurances, health insurance
  • driving license
  • opening a bank account

Which other administrative obligations you are subject to, depends on the professional status you will be adopting (employee, non-Belgian self-employed status, Belgian self-employed status):

If you are going to work in Belgium as an employee, we can help you with the standard formalities (see above), as well as with:

  • the formalities concerning your social security
  • your tax declaration

If you are a European (EU) self-employed consultant temporarily coming to Belgium, we can help you with the standard formalities (see above), as well as with:

  • your “Limosa”-declaration, a legislation specific to foreign employees and self-employed consultants in Belgium, with penal implications
  • form E101, a document proving that you pay social security dues in the country in which you have self-employed status

If you wish to establish yourself as a self-employed consultant in Belgium, we can help you with the standard formalities (see above), as well as with:

  • applying for a VAT-number
  • your social security formalities
  • your tax declaration
  • invoicing
